slowly begins wading through the backlog of update art i didn’t have time to draw when the updates actually happened
My new set of handmade Photoshop brushes is finally available for download on Gumroad!!! I’ve set the minimum price at $3 (although you are free to donate more!) because I worked hard on these, and I think they are worth it!
Each of these brush tip shapes was drawn with ink on paper and scanned, for brushes with a really traditional, organic feel. Each brush is intended to be used for shading and adding texture to larger areas of a painting, and is less suited to detail work (that’ll be my next set!). Each brush is also named after a type of pie, because I couldn’t think of a reason why they shouldn’t be.
Notes:
- Recommended for Photoshop CS5 or CS6. They’ll open in earlier versions of CS, and in GIMP, but some settings may not work properly.
- Apple Dumpling is a smaller, more compact version of Apple Pie - GET IT?????? Well, anyway, it’s the most line-suited of the set, while Pie is better for filling in big areas.
- Turn down the Flow setting for a softer, more textured brush.

Since I’ve got my new brush set just about ready to go, I decided to fix up my original set a little bit, repackage it, and put it up for download on Gumroad. Besides just looking classier than deviantArt, I decided to use Gumroad because it has a pay-what-you-will option. So although I’ve set the price at $0, a donation of a dollar or two would be very much appreciated - particularly if you use these brushes often!!!

no matter how pure my intentions, nearly every page of my sketchbook devolves into a hamsteak party at some point
Here are some sketches I did last fall for other possible calendar illustrations! I knew I wanted to do a landscape of one of my favorites of the trolls’ lands, I just had to decide which. I went with LOMAT because I felt like the composition of that sketch was the most fun and interesting and also it has the prettiest colors of all, but I’m still pretty tempted to finish that Sexypants Eridan on LOWAA one of these days.
Here’s my illustration for November in the 2013 Homestuck Calendar!!! I am so honored to have been asked to contribute, and so proud of how this turned out, and so excited to show it off at last!!!
